Hi Andy,

A typical dvd holds 4.5 gigs of data.

Hi again Rusty.

I managed to follow your instructions and successfully copied 14 albums 1.44gb of mp3's onto a blank DVD. This is excellent as I've got a lot of stuff to back-up and it makes sense to use a larger format disk. Any idea just how much I can get onto a DVD? Another list member advised that he managed to get 3gb. Is this possible?

Best wishes.

Hi,

When using roxio e z cd creator 6.x, choose creator classic from the opening menu. Navigate to the files you'd like to store onto the dvd. Remember, you're making a data compilation, not music. Press control t to add the selection to you dvd, either a file at a time, or a folder at a time. You can route your mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen, and move it up a line at a time to hear how much room remains on the dvd. They hold 4.5 gigs of data. If you put more than 4 gigs on, you'll get a warning message that after burning, the dvd will be closed. I use dvd's to archive a lot of data. Whether you'll be able to play these mp3's on a player depends on what the player supports. My dvd player is old enough, about four years, that it will not play dvd's or cd's that I've burned. I have players that will play mp3 cd's. I suspect that there is, or some day will be, a player that can play any format.

Hope this helps.

Hi Peter

I burned mp3's onto a standard cd and Simon was able to listen to the music on his boss wave machine. I could also listen to it on my dvd player which is under my tv. I understand that a dvd can hold mp3 tracks, but cannot get Easy CD Creator to do it for me.

Best wishes.

Mp3 music on a DVD. Now there's an idea. I imagine if this is possible then
you could perhaps contain an artists complete discography on one DVD? I'm
assuming a DVD has more than 1 Gig of space, otherwise you'd just place the
discography on a regular CD. Which is fine if you only have a discography of 8 albums or so. But if an artists discography amounts to some 15 albums, then a DVD with the space of perhaps 2 Gigs would certtainly be the way to go. If this is the way you went and you placed all of an artists discography on one DVD in mp3 format, could you then play that DVD on a stereo slash mp3 player?
Hmmm. Now 14 Cat Stevens mp3 albums on one DVD playing all day on one DVD
disc. Man I'd be teasing Buddha in Katmandoo with a chocolate bull at four on
a broken morning in room C79 while I waited for the peace train. But is it
really possible to place a 15 album discography on one DVD and play it on an
mp3 player?

Hi all.

I've converted 14 Roy Harper albums to mp3 format and would like to back
these up onto a DVD to save disks. I'm using Easy CD Creator version 6.0 and
would really welcome a step by step at how to achieve this. I've attempted
but cannot manage. I have discovered that the albums amount to 1.37gb. Is
this too large for a DVD? Any advise would be very appreciated folks.
Thanks.

Best wishes.
