Willie:
I have been using Audacity for a short while. I wanted a multitrack
recorder and don't have the big bucks to buy Pro-tools or Sound forge. I am
however using Goldwave and like it's functionality. But it only records one
track, no real time overdubbing. Only layering or mixing of files.
I like the possibility of recording up to 16-tracks with Audacity. I
especially like the free download and it's price. I have found on the web
the keyboard commands and a over view from an audio engineer in San
Francisco. But he is sighted and gives no hints how the blind can use
Audacity. I did however, send an E-mail to the guy asking him if he knew of
blind individuals using Audacity. No answer yet.
I use to run a recording studio using old TASCAM multitrack reel recorders.
Had racks and racks of digital signal processing equipment. I sold all that
recently on
E-Bay.
I have been using Goldwave for about five years to produce programs uploaded
to the web on ACB Radio. I have recently stopped that.
I now have a few music projects I want to put together, and like I said,
need a multititrack recorder. I hope Audacity can work.

I have been able to over dub in real time several tracks but, haven't been
able to signal process each track. Raise or lower levels, treat with reverb
or delay or anything. How is that done?
I use JAWS 4.51 with Win XP home on a one year only Toshiba.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks very much for your response.

Chuck
