As mentioned you can easily use DVD Shrink to read the dvds as well as decrypt them which is a must for making back up copies. Due to the encryption and the size of most dvds you cannot simply use dvd-copy in Nero to copy a dvd movie. By using DVD Shrink you can remove the encryption and you can shrink it down however some newer dvd movies like Stealth starring Jessica Beel and Jamie Fox will not decrypt even with DVD Shrink. Unless they update DVD Shrink what you may have to do is purchase any-dvd which is a driver running in the background. I believe that sells for $30 or $40. With this running any dvd placed in your system will be decrypted so DVD Shrink can read it and you can do your backup.
I don't remember off hand which site sells Any-DVD but you can get it from the list archives or do a google search for it. Good luck.
