Hi Joanne and list, Joanne, to answer your first question, I don't use the media player classic hardly at all. Sure it's there in place of real player, and I got rid of real player because of the icon that appeared in the system tray that I had to disable every time I started the machine. As well as it was always trying to update itself. I have winamp set as my default player and media player classic only comes up real occasionally on the web. Honestly I don't know the answer to this one and I apologize. I looked in the program itself and I can tell you how to mute but not how to access the volume control. It's under the volume control pull down, I just can't access the hotkey with window-eyes. Denny
