Hi Walter and list.

The problem you describe with CDs having multiple artists on them is a
problem with the database you're accessing, not Real Player. The artist
field in the database is for the entire album, and not for the individual
tracks on the CD. If whoever enters the info on the CD database is nice,
you'll get the title and artist showing up in the title field of the CD.
You'll also see various as the artist. As an example, suppose I have a CD
that contains more than one artist. One of the tracks is Alvin's Orchestra
by Alvin and the Chipmunks. You might see something like

03 Various - Alvin's Orchestra - Alvin and the Chipmunks.

You'll have to do some editing of the files, but it does work.

Believe it or not, there is a situation where Various is nice for the
artist, and that's where the person who entered the information in the CD
Database uses the artist of the first track as the artist name. Suppose I
have an oldies CD, and the first track is by the Beatles. The second is by
Alvin and the Chipmunks, and the third is by the Rolling Stones. This
situation would look something like the following:

01 The Beatles - Hey Jude
02 The Beatles - Alvin's Orchestra
03 The Beatles - Satisfaction

As you can see, this is confusing and to me I'd rather see Various as the
name of the artist.

Hope you find this helpful. If you have questions, let me know.
