Hi, I have only researched the Gigaworks line from Creative. Just about all the opinions and reviews I have read indicate that the 5.1 and especially the 7.1 systems are excellent. Note that with the 7.1 configuration you will need an eight channel sound card to utilize it effectively. With 700 watts of combined power you will definitely rock your world. especially great for gaming but maybe 8 channels is a bit of overkill for MP3 usage. Also, the unit is cost prohibitive at #$400 US and up plus shipping. The complete package ways in at a hefty 70 pounds there abouts.
