I wish I knew a way to move that slider in smaller amounts too.  I think the 
time it jumps depends on the length of the file.  I also wish one could use 
hot keys to move the slider without having to bring focus to the control 
first.  There isn't even a hot key to bring focus to the slider in WMP 10.
