Hi, I did this with a guitar track. I used a very minor delay. If it's too much, it will sound more like an echo, but something like 1 MS or so, maybe even less, will give you a stereo distinction. It takes a bit of experimenting, and I don't remember what I did exactly, but it did work beautifully.
