Hi Sunshine. Yes, I've done that for line-in to my sound card and was able to make reasonable recordings. However, my Soundblaster does not have a line-out, other than Optical that I can use, in order to play audio from my computer to my hi-fi. Also, the distance is about 5 meters and that is quite a cable length. The Optic connection would I believe, give me much higher quality and I've got a couple of very long cables. The problem I have is that the Optical connection on the Soundblaster serves as both optical in and out, though changing this is I believe, quite difficult for a partially sighted person.
Thanks. Best wishes. Andy Logue Contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sunshine" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. It's a sony audio video amp which is now discontinued, but sony still produce amps with an optical input/output, but they are over £300. however the sony sales are on at the moment so you may get a bit off that price. sorry I can't help on how to change the soundblaster from an output to an input, but why not email their technical support for a step by step guide? regards steve green. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andy Logue" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list.
