Hi, I'm having a similar problem with one of my older computers. For some odd reason my CD rom will not spend or detect that a CD is in the drive. I ran reg scrub to see if that would fix it but it didn't . I ran check disk, a virus scan, scanned for spyware and everything and it still don't work. I'm wondering if it's a driver problem but I don't know what type of drive it is or where to find the drivers for it. Anyone have any other ideas?

Subject: Re: lost my DVD drive Hi, I've seen this happen to mine. Similar thing, it disappears every so often from My Computer, especially when I put in CDRW media. What I did is simply start running the add hardware wizard. You get past the first couple dialogs, and if you have a disc in the drive, it will rev up and you can tell it has detected the drive again. HTH Brandon Bobcat wrote: > I recently lost my DVD drive.
