I tried renamer. It got the job done for me where Snapstream generates bad names of the form show title-(short description)-year-month-day.mpg. A few times, I used the ability to use variables in renamer to break it down, eliminating the short description, and could change to month-day-year format, which could give me chronological playback as long as months from different years don't duplicate. There's some issues with accessibility with renamer, but it got the job done as long as there weren't duplicates, where I'd want to add -1, -2, etc before the extension.
