Guess what, it works.  This is with v5.35.  Not sure which version it
started working with as I haven't tried it for quite some time, but I
decided to give it another try and opened the file directly from Winamp and
it played just fine.

Thanks!  Replay AV is why I raised the question.
I was hoping to save the time to convert to mp3 for some files.
Winamp, rather than WMP and RealPlayer, has the ability to do faster 
jumping in files.
Incidentally, my rp10 will play replay av .asf files.
