Hi, Yes, it works with my Comcast cable box. There was a cord that came with the Adapt Tech that ended with a special end that went on the front of the cable box. That is how my keyboard commands were able to affect the cable box.
You'll want to have your coaxial cable going in to your computer, so you will have maximum control of your TV commands. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any more help.
