On my 1 gig Zen Stone, I can change folders, power down and not lose my
place in a book.  It will go back to the beginning of a music file
though.

the 1 gig zenstone, will put you back in the same place if you pause or
power down, but if you change folders, it takes you back to the
beginning of 
the folder.   For instance, I had a book on mine,under the  book title
as 
the folder, adn music on the rest, but If I switched form the book to
the music and back, it went to the beginning of the book.
