The volume up and down (ctrl + up/down) will not work unless your screen reader is shut down, or in the case of jaws, if you press insert and 3 (on the number row) before pressing the hotkey. Please note that if you press insert and 3, the volume hotkeys will work once, after which you must press insert and 3 again, better just to shut down the screen reader.
