Hi there sarah, no, because StationPlaylist has its own mixer and microphone management, the output doesn't have to be on stereo mix. The advantage of this is that if you only have one sound card with speech going through it, listeners don't hear your speech. It is used in many radio stations around the world now. While it started as a tool for LPFM broadcasters here in new Zealand, where the developer is based and where there is a thriving LPFM scene, it's grown in the six years or so that it's been around and is being used by a number of 50 thousand watt commercial broadcasters. So yes you can use it to stream, but it's also the engine behind many AM and FM radio stations too. It supports advanced features such as voice tracking, temperature announcements, time announcements, and intro announcements, so if you're willing to put the work in, you can make an automated radio station sound pretty much live.
