Hi there sarah, no, because StationPlaylist has its own mixer and microphone
management, the output doesn't have to be on stereo mix. The advantage of
this is that if you only have one sound card with speech going through it,
listeners don't hear your speech.

After your first post to the list about StationPlaylist, I did send you an
add request offering to assist you via Skype, so am still happy to do that
if you'd like some help.

All the best,

jonathan

Interesting. it seem spretty good and I've ben playing with the functions
before even attempting to conect to a stream to test. I
do wonder. does the output you want have to be in stereo mix? the output I
want to use does not have one but I guess that's for
the station playlist list wich I'm in the process of joining.

Just so that StationPlaylist isn't sold short here, while it does interface
with a range of Winamp-compatible streaming plug-ins, and is actually
bundled with Oddcast for streaming, the StationPlaylist suite is a full
broadcasting package. It is used in many radio stations around the world
now. While it started as a tool for LPFM broadcasters here in new Zealand,
where the developer is based and where there is a thriving LPFM scene, it's
grown in the six years or so that it's been around and is being used by a
number of 50 thousand watt commercial broadcasters. So yes you can use it to
stream, but it's also the engine behind many AM and FM radio stations too.
It supports advanced features such as voice tracking, temperature
announcements, time announcements, and intro announcements, so if you're
willing to put the work in, you can make an automated radio station sound
pretty much live.

I've used it since it came out, when I was running an LPFM station here, and
have worked with the author particularly during the early days on
accessibility issues. He has been brilliant about making changes to ensure
that the software is accessible. It's been good to see more and more blind
people support him over the years.

Nope it is a streaming tool for us broadcasters so other people can listen
to us. You use a dsp pluggin to stream with like
oddcast.

Is this suppose to be a music streamer that one can use to listen to their
own music
when away from home or an alternative to shoutcast?
