I am very pleased with the update for the Victor Reader Stream. However, I transferred one book onto the unit via the cable between it and the PC and I think it still takes too long. With the card reader the operation happens practically instantaneously. Not so otherwise. Apart from that, there are some nice improvements. You now have tone control of bass and treble respectively for music. The volume is increased for the internal speaker. The pitch of the synthesized voice can be changed. These are the best improvements for my liking. Lois Goodine
