Hi I'm not sure about sound forge, but in gold wave, when you do a batch process, there's an effects tab. Pressing enter on the add button presents you with a veriety of choices, one of which is maximize volume, and probably a way to normalize it, too. Not sure about sound forge- does it have a batch processing feature? If it does, check around for an effects tab, or something similar.
