Hi scott,

you can go to the microsoft site and get the windows media encoder which
will convert the file from avi to windows media audio (WMA) and depending
on what encoder software you have convert the (WMA) files to mp3. It's a
long way to do it but I don't know of any straight avi to mp3 converter
software. Hope this helps.

Tony

Subject: stripping audio from an avi file

could someone tell me where I could find software to make an mp3 file out of
an avi file? I thought loading a few movies on my mp3 player would give me
some distraction during an upcoming trip.

    Thanks for any help.

        Scott
