What application are you in when you hear that sound? I wonder if maybe
it isn't a Windows event but rather something built into the
application itself.

Its funny, the sound that I'm trying to get rid of isn't actually
there I'm trying to assign Ding.wav to Windows critical stop. This
may be the wrong event. You know how when you're in an edit box, and
when narrowing ding.wav is played, to indicate its empty? This is
the sound I'm trying to fix. Hope this makes sense.
