Holger,
I called Audible Customer Service this morning and posed the question about access to my books after termination of membership. The lady assured me that I would continue to have access to my books both on my computers and portable devices. I would also be able to access My Library on AUDIBLE.COM. Finally, I would be able to activate new devices, provided I did not go beyond the limits they set. If one of my devices was no longer in operation, I would be able to call them and get my device limit reset.

This information should reassure you and other subscribers that access to Audible books is not lost when membership is terminated.

Agreed. I currently use audible and if in the future I want to stop using their services, I will not be able to read my books.

I figure once something is purchased, it is ours to do with as we see fit.
Just my oppinion.
