Subject: WavePad not accessible
Hi everybody,
I received my brand-new Blue Yeti Microphone in the mail over the
weekend from Sweetwater Sound Inc. Its actually smaller than I thought
it to be. I imagined it to be a huge complicated looking thing. Well,
it is a bit bulky, and it does have a bit of a heft to it, but its
small enough to fit here on my desk without getting in the way. At some
point in the near future, I'm going to see about joinning the team of
djs at Mushroomfm.com, and this is the mike to which I'll be using on
air. So while I have the time, I'd like to make some test recordings
with this Mike and play them back, so that I can get a feel as to how
my voice will sound coming through both headphones as well as my
computer speakers. This way, I can hear what my voice will sound like
over the air to the listeners, or at least get an idea. I did a test
recording with Skype's call testing service using the Yeti, and it
sounds quite clear from what I can tell through headphones. I also
tried to record my voice using WavePad, but I've found that its not as
accessible as I thought. Have any of you ever tried using WavePad? I
can load an existing file and play it, but for the life of me, I can't
figure out how to make recordings. The buttons appear to be
inaccessible. For any of you, who have used WavePad before, are there
any hotkeys I can use to start and stop a recording? if not, do you
know of a sound editor program, that's accessible with a screen reader?
I'm using Windows xp home, with Window-eyes. Thanks for any help you
can provide me.
