This reminds me. Sonar I've read can do multi channel too. Has any one done
it? Is it 5.1 or 7.1? The reason I ask is because Yeah, sound forge pro can
do 7.1 surround sound,

But you have to record it live with it or import a file that is7.1 or 5.1
already. Thing is, weeling out a desk top and a mixer aint so practical
from how I look at it. How ever you can record your things on a Sound
Devices 788-T to use later. Here's the catch, you now have 8 plane tracks.
How to make it surround sound is the question. I'm glad to hear Pro Tules is
being worked on. I'll nead it since that's what the movie industry uses a
lot. You're talking about access for it on Windows right? I know that it's
some what accessible on the MAC. How accessible? I know not not having heard
a pod cast on it or tried it my self.

Audacity is probably the best because of the strong support from blind
users.

Have a look at-

Reaper with Reaccess is a possibility but quite flaky.

If you have the patience of Jobe and the willingness to endure a long, hard
learning curve, you could try Sonar.

N-track studio is another possibility but is inaccessible to screen readers
in important places

Sound Forge is a multi-channel editor rather than a multi-track editor and
is morphing into a multi-channel video editor.

Some work has been done to make Pro tools accessible but I don't know what
progress has been made with it.
