How about for us who have no line in jack on our laptop, notebook, or netbook. I have a notebook and a netbook that have only speaker out and mic in. And the mic in doesn't seem to be stereo. How can I record stereo from a higher level device-like, maybe, a tape deck or portable radio? I think they took it away from me.

The monitor function of SF should do this but it doesn't for some reason.
So, your only option is to go into the sound dialog go to the recording tab,
select the line in, go to its properties, and to the listen tab check the
listen to this device box. Apply, and hit okay. Then hit okay again on the
properties thing.

Subject: audio when recording from line in?

Hi all,

am running windows 7.

I have sound coming in through my line in.

I can record using soundforge and when I listen the recording is plaid back.

Is there a way to have the audio of my source from line in heard whenever it
is operating instead of only after recording and stopping it?
