Tom, It appears you landed in the right area of the control panel, followed by the sounds manager. As Rebecca suggested, once you land in that tree view, arrow either up or down until you hear Windows default. I think that's the right term, and it's the one Rebecca mentioned. Once you have that spoken, which is to say focused, tab to the Apply button and press spacebar, then tab to the OK button and press spacebar again.
I'm assuming you have XP. I'm using Win7 and so can't go through the process myself anymore, but Rebecca's instructions remind me of exactly what was needed in XP. -----Original Message----- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2013 5:11 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Have Lost Windows Sounds In other words, I need not bother with that treview? Still not sure I understand _exactly_ what I am to do here! Tom Kaufman (P.S. whatever it is I did, it didn't work, for I still don't have my windows sounds! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rebecca jackson" <rebeccajacks...@gmail.com> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2013 4:51 PM Subject: Re: Have Lost Windows Sounds Oh, I'm not using Jaws 14 so not sure if there's anything different. To answer your previous question, there is a tree view but you only need to navigate it if you want to change the windows sounds.
