Greetings, In the view menu make sure the auto scroll-lock is checked, this brings into effect movement keys and I believe solves your space bar problem.
Ctrl-g should be used when playing the file, i.e whilst it is actually playing and when a value has been entered, press enter to jump there, the file playing all the time, don't think it works from a stopped position.
