Sensitivity for the FM tuner is variable, that is to say you can adjust it, by 
default the tuner is set so that it only "Seeks" and Receives local signals in 
stereo but this can be changed.  When you think about it these defaults make a 
lot of sense, normally people would just rather use the RDS search function to 
search for a station, tune directly or a frequency etc.

I have to tell you that the FM tuner sounds surprisingly good given that its 
built-in and not a dedicated tuner, I listen to a classical music station and 
the transmitter is 60 miles away, you can hardly hear any background noise when 
the volume is turned up to a very high level and that's in an area where the 
volume certainly will never go here unless I want to gamble the life of my 
speakers away <smile>.

No touch screens whatever.
