Hi! I mentioned Raspberry Pi a few messages ago as I have one which has been turned into a talking radio player, in other words the user can browse the Internet for radio stations, listen to and save them to presets etc, I didn't do the programming, I left it to someone who's good at that thing, I would have published more on this project much earlier but for the fact that the piece of equipment we chose to use to drive tand navigate the Pi doesn't seem to be readily available, rather than a USB keyboard a USB number pad is used and I don't see those available in high volume anywhere though I stand to be corrected of course and others may know more than I do.
I also mentioned that the Raspberry Pid is being used quite successfully as a media controller - there is one firm in Australia that markets this sort of thing as a "Smart Television you don't have" - and some of the specs according to searches I've done with Google look quite impressive. I had thought of building 1 myself - there are plenty of instructions, articles and tutorials on how to do this available - but I don't think I'll bother given that a Raspberry Pi Media package is readily available already assembled and configured, all ready to go with Wi-Fi etc for around $100.00 I don't anticipate getting this thing talking without help but what I may be able to do is to control the package via one of the many Remote Apps available for IOS via the iTunes store? I'll let the list know how I get on. ********** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
