Help with Audacity

Hi all
can anyone help with the change speed feature of Audacity? Just don't 
understand the dialogue compared to the pitch effect in GoldWave. 
Perhaps it's because I work by semitone and not percentage. Any help 
greatly appreciated. Thanks!
