If you mainly want to play DVDs, who knows. Yes 9 will play BDs too, but as the keys update you may have to upgrade if you care about BD to start with. BD is Blu-Ray Disk BTW. There's also the fact that 14 maybe worse then 13 in accessibility. I should check it out before going firther though. But from these guys' history, I think 14 is awful as far as being accessible goes. That's just my experience speaking. I haven't tried it as of yet. Try it out and see.
