Many of the Android devices available today are running the latest Bluetooth Standards and Profiles available whereas the iPhone does not.

Whether this has anything to do with it I don't know.

I have a pair of Senheiser Bluetooth headphones here I bought 5 years ago, can't remember the model number but the delay with the iPhone is around a quarter of a second - quite acceptable - wheras the delay on the Samsung Galaxy S6 is about a tenth of a second - perhaps a little irritating but nothing that would seriously put you off your work -.

As I said with the hearing instruments I'm using delay is so small - if any - that its not immediately noticed but I'd expect that given the firmware of my Hearing Instruments is regularly updated and they are just over 2 years old.
