Hi,

Using pca version 20090105-01 patch 138866-02 fails to install.

It installed fine on two of my test machines, running 10/08 as well.

Looking at the README.138866-02 it seems this patch is needed prior to patch 137137-09 being installed.

It's a hack from Sun. They found out that installing 137137-09 breaks some systems, and fixed it with a patch that has to be installed before 137137-09, namely 125555-01. Instead of producing a new kernel patch revision which would require 125555, they produced a new revision of 138866 which is already required by 137137-09, and made 138866 require 125555. This should ensure that 125555 is installed before 137137-09. Weird :) For 10/08 all this shouldn't matter, as it has 137137-09 pre-installed, as you noticed.

Patch 138866-02 failed to install due to a failure produced by pkgadd.

Hm, I think I've never had that error, but it's a rather general failure message.

See /var/sadm/patch/138866-02/log for details

Is there anything more informative in this file?

Martin.
