Hi PCE WG, In latest version of the draft, 3 new metric types are introduced: - P2P and P2MP Bandwidth metric type (2 separate metric types) - User defined metric types
Since operator can use multiple "user-defined" metrics in the topology in IGP, each of them will use different metric type from range 128-255, which is allocated for such purposes. See proposed metric type values in IGP: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-lsr-flex-algo-bw-con-12.html#name-igp-metric-type-registry Since only simple way to map between user-defined IGP metric types and PCEP metric types is to use same metric type range and 1:1 mapping between them, we are allocating it in PCEP as well. We have a plan to ask for early IANA codepoint allocation for those metric types soon (to avoid any potential conflicting allocation in PCEP metric types registry, which would complicate mapping in the future), so please check updated version of the draft and provide any feedback. It is a work item of the Path Computation Element (PCE) WG of the IETF. Title: Carrying SR-Algorithm information in PCE-based Networks. Authors: Samuel Sidor Alex Tokar Shaofu Peng Shuping Peng Andrew Stone Name: draft-ietf-pce-sid-algo-09.txt Pages: 22 Dates: 2024-06-07 Abstract: The SR-Algorithm associated with a Prefix Segment-ID (SID) defines the path computation algorithm used by Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs). This information is available to controllers such as the Path Computation Element (PCE) via topology learning. This document proposes an approach for informing headend routers regarding the SR- Algorithm associated with each Prefix SID used in PCE-computed paths, as well as signalling a specific SR-Algorithm as a constraint to the PCE.
