Just to keep WG informed - summary of changes done in version 17: 1. The use of the MULTIPATH-BACKUP TLV is now explicitly limited to P2MP paths, with P2P support declared out of scope (same was discussed during IETF124 session). 2. The draft now updates RFC 8281 (on top of RFC8231), originally only RBNF for PCUpdate and PCRpt was formally updated, but we had to update RBNF for PCInitiate 3. Error handling was added a PCEP peer receiving a multipath TLVs for a feature whose specific capability flag was not negotiated. 4. Normative references were updated for 2 drafts to RFC 9862 and RFC 9863. 5. Multiple smaller changes done for consistency

It is a work item of the Path Computation Element (PCE) WG of the IETF. Title: Path Computation Element Communication Protocol (PCEP) Extensions for Signaling Multipath Information Authors: Mike Koldychev Siva Sivabalan Tarek Saad Vishnu Pavan Beeram Hooman Bidgoli Bhupendra Yadav Shuping Peng Gyan Mishra Samuel Sidor Name: draft-ietf-pce-multipath-17.txt Pages: 29 Dates: 2025-12-17 Abstract: Certain traffic engineering path computation problems require solutions that consist of multiple traffic paths that together form a solution. Returning a single traffic path does not provide a valid solution. This document defines mechanisms to encode multiple paths for a single set of objectives and constraints. This allows encoding of multiple Segment Lists per Candidate Path within a Segment Routing Policy. The new Path Computation Element Communication Protocol (PCEP) mechanisms are designed to be generic, where possible, to allow for future re-use outside of SR Policy. The new PCEP mechanisms are applicable to both stateless and stateful PCEP. Additionally, this document updates RFC 8231 to allow encoding of multiple Segment Lists in PCEP.
