I am running OS 8.6 on my 6500 and I have a whole whack of Mac OS CDs.....from
System 7.6.1 through System 9.1....but the thing I wanted to do was install my
original 6500 software, with all of the applications that came with it "as new,"
onto a drive other than the original internal 4-gig ATA drive.
Then I could start up off the external hard drive and invoke the magical
internal GV 56k Apple modem preferences and STF software to send and receive
FAXes with....and not interfere with my regular preferences, which connect me
via Ethernet to DSL modem.
The RESTORE CD does not operate like other Mac OS installer CDs. It does not ask
which drive you want to install the software on !!!
