Well, say what you like, but I have five 9600's, each with a
full 1.5 GB RAM installed at a cost of about $20.00 per module,
thanks to Velocity Upgrades.

I can remember when people told me not to even think about
upgrading 9600's because the RAM, at more than $100.00 a module,
made it prohibitive.

Check it out. Sixty slots times $100.00 equals $6,000.00.
Sixty slots times $20.00 equals $1200.00.

It's not just that I am cheap. It's that $20.00 RAM modules
have made my favorite computer, the 9600, affordable, and in my
opinion, competitive with the G4. I have a G4/733 that I seldom use
because my 9600's do everything I need just as well or better.

Yes, testing and returning defectives becomes tedious after
a while and I tire of it and complain. But I have been using
Velocity RAM for a long time and never had a single one go bad after
I put it into use. If I weed out the defective ones before
installing them I never have a problem after that.

I think the information I post about the defective rate is
valuable information. Those who might be thinking of filling up a
9600 with RAM need to know exactly what they will encounter if they
decide to buy $20.00 RAM Modules. That is one of the things the list
is about, isn't it, helping people to understand their options, and
the cost and consequences of each?

So, the frisky cheap sheep say here's a sheep fart for you
who don't like cheap.
