While setting up my 8500 as an mp3 server, I installed OS 9.1 on a clean drive. It is connected to a T.V. only, using S-Video.
If I choose to Sleep, either using the power button or the Finder menu item, waking will cause the foreground application to crash; even if it's the Finder (crash, not freeze, with a recommendation to restart). Zap PR doesn't help. If the system goes to sleep 'naturally' (half hour set in Energy Saver), waking will not cause a crash. An interesting difference between the two sleep methods. Sleep from the power button or Finder menu blacks out the screen (T.V.). The other method sleeps the drives but not the screen. Sleeping the T.V. is, of course, unnecessary. This isn't a huge problem since I would usually just let it sleep. I'm just a little curious since I've never had this problem before. _ Andrew -- -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
