More or less.... yes. I don't know about CMOS much, but the CUDA erases 
a rewritable EEPROM on the logic board. Pressing this wipes the chip, 
then on the next boot, the computer writes (hopefully good) code back 
into the chip. Why is this important? Because EEPROMs can only be 
written to a finite number of times. Don't hit the button too much.
