Possibly, but I've never noticed a problem...they're not loaded until 
needed anyway.

Absolutely. If you want to look at something and it's not there, by 
definition you have too few. ;-) Seriously, you do need to keep the 
default plug-in in the plug-ins folder

Acrobat Reader, Quicktime, Flash (Macromedia has finally stopped their 
'62.4 seconds have elapsed since we last made you upgrade your Flash 
plug-in, so it's time again!' installer train.) Perhaps Real Player. 
Perhaps Windows Media.

My plugin's directory is littered with plugins that I've never used but 
once on a lame site somewhere...does anyone still use Beatnik?

Not typically, and the ones that install via netscape usually require a 
restart.

Well made plug-ins will install themselves properly.

As I said, it depends on what you're looking at/listening to.

Are you having a particular problem, looking to do some spring disk 
cleaning, what?
