>Are there any external CDRW's USB or FW that a PCI PowerMac can boot from?
>Or is it only the interal Apple branded ones?

The limitation on booting from FireWire or USB is based on the
hardware and firmware of the Mac. If your Mac has a built-in USB
and/or Firewire port the drivers are include in the ROM in the
computer and it should be able to boot from an external drive
attached to the port. If it is not built-in then it won't work. On
PCI Macs, the USB and Firewire drivers are loaded during the system
boot phase (Extensions) and have to be read in from disk. If you are
trying to boot those computers from Firewire or USB, you are stuck in
a catch-22 because the information you need to read the external
drive is stored on the drive.
