Go to the manufacturer's sites and see if you can find the jumper diagrams
(there's on on IBM's site). set the jumpers for ID, termination, etc. Only
the last internal drive on the ribbon should be terminated.

Maxtor's web site has configuration diagrams for several makes of drives.

Sometimes there is a sticker somewhere on the HD case that shows jumper #s
and functions.
