The Ray-O-Vac #840 4.5V/850 mA "cube" is a mail order only item at 19.99
+ S&H from Radio Shack. I bought a pair of the Ray-O-Vac from
www.mcmelectronics.com for 13.21 each + S&H. While waiting for them to
come in I went to K-Mart and bought a set of 4-AA Energizer NiMH cells
[1.2V/1,700 mA] with charger for 12.99 on sale. Then went to Radio Shack
and bought an 4-AA cell holder for 1.19. Put NiMH cells in holder and
velcro'ed it to the mobo. Cut connector off dead Ray-O-Vac cube and
soldered to AA-cell holder. Now have batteries with double the life span
of the cube [1,700 vs 850].
