Upgrade your OS to 9.x If I understand correctly, Mac OS 9+ allows the use of files greater than 2GB on HFS+ disks. This was largely to accomodate digital video and DVDs.
Until you upgrade your OS to something higher than 8.6, you won't be able to manipulate (create) files larger than 2GB, IIRC. I could be wrong though, so take this advice with a grain of salt. Out of curiousity, what resolution are you using to capture? I'm guessing 320x240... Do you know if the 8500 can acctually capture 640x480? My understanding of the Performa line of video capture cards (and also the PowerMac G3) is that they can only capture at 320x240 (or less) and then pixel double to higher resolutions.
