Did you already have the applications to open your transferred data files installed on the 9600, or did you drag them over from the B&W G3. If the latter any extensions, preferences and associated folders my be left on the B&W G3's system folder. Did you boot the B&W G3 from a system CD and copy the whole hard disk over to the 9600's 40GB partition?
