Hi List.

The original fan that came with the xlr8 ZIF Carrier with g4/450 in my
9600 died a ways back, about the same time xlr8 went out of business.
Anyone else who has the same card in a 9600 (8600 maybe?) knows there
isn't much room between the top of the ZIF and the chassis for cooling.
As a substitute I installed a 486 heatsink fan, but it left almost no
space above for circulation.

Anyway, I just bought a Lasagna Slim heatsink fan from Tennmax. Since
it's only 10mm high it leaves plenty of room above. I had to remove the
clips it came with but using the wire clips that came with the xlr8 card
it's a good tight fit. According to Gauge Pro the processor is now
running between 35-37C, whereas before it was running 50-52C with the
486 heatsink fan. It ran 48-50C with the original xlr8 heatsink fan.

I would recommend one for anyone else in my situation.
