The browser wars were lost because Microsoft
engaged in illegal abuse of its monopoly powers.
It was because of this illegal activity that Netscape
did not have the funds to continue developing Netscape Communicator.
At that time Netscape got to be bad, compared to Explorer
(which continued to be improved.)
AOL purchased Netscape, and 7.02 is (for me) absolutely
the best and fastest browser.

I do not know why others have had bad results with 7.0.2.
Perhaps they have not increased the allocated RAM
(this is absolutely necessary, IMHO).
For me, the utilization of Explorer 5 (latest version) is painfully slow.
And Tabs are an improvement that is truly great for web browsing.

I give Netscape 100,000K of RAM.
I use RAM disk for the Cache.
I have 7.0.2 on 4 computers.

My computers:
8600/G3 450, about 800MB RAM system 8.6
7300/G3 275, about 500MB RAM system 8.6
iMac Summer 2001 500MHz about 600MB RAM system 9.1
Beige G3 MiniTower 430MHz, about 600RAM system 9.2.2

Netscape 7.0.2 runs terrifically well and FAST (dialup modem) on all 4.

I do go into the Netscape preferences and change a lot of things
(for instance i select Geneva for ALL my fonts, except Sans Serif.)
For some reason, Netscape works very well for me.
It does load slowly, very slowly, and it does shut down very slowly.
But it downloads pages very very very fast.
I have not encountered any web pages that it cannot see.

I hope the URL for ziff-davis will be posted, so that i can try to go there with
7.0.2.

I hope this info helps some folks enjoy faster web browsing.
