No, they are PCI 2.0 compliant. Seems as though there is not a problem with PCI 2.1 compliant hardware being downward compatible with it. I had a PCI 2.2 USB card that would not work in my 8500, though, but could not be sure if it had anything to do with the PCI standard or not. There were other factors. At the time I posed a question to this list about cross-compatibility with the PCI standards and nobody really had a definitive answer.
