I have been looking for increased listening enjoyment lately, as my iBook piping into old AppleDesign speakers doesn't cut it anymore (I listen mainly to Classical --- the AppleDesign have excellent sound, but not quite enough range).
Basically, I want to move my entire music collection to the PowerMac 7500 (with G3 upgrade, the current 200Mhz 604e won't be enough I'm sure), stick it in a closet, and use that as a digital jukebox. I have seen super cheap SoundBlaster Live Mac cards out there. Does anyone use these? I know they have a bad rap because of no OS X support, but combined with a nice set of Cambridge Soundworks speakers, I could use the digital sound instead of traditional RCA output from the PowerMac. Anyone with experience in this area, or with alternative suggestions? --Chris iBook 700 OS X.2.4 PM 7500/200 OS 9.1 PM 4400/200 OS 8.6, NetBSD -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
