I have just purchased an IDE drive that I hope will have OS X on it. It is to replace a drive in a beige G3 DT/350, which I don't have with me. I figured that I would be able to format this drive through my Ultratek 66, making sure that the drive is appropriately partitioned. I figured to have the first partition with OS X; the second with OS 9.2. I am believe that since I am doing this on a machine that is not supported by OS X that I may need to use XPostFacto to help install this as well as formatting the drive with OS 9's Disk Set-up. Is this thinking right? Finally, are there any potential difficulties I need to take into consideration before doing this?
I know it would it be easier to do this if on the G3 itself but the problem is that the computer is in New Orleans and I'm in Texas and don't know if I will see the machine before school starts.
Any advice is welcome.
TIA.
