My daughter's 5500 does the same thing. Never have figured a way to make the settings stick. The easiest thing to do is change the sound input source using the control strip before opening AVP. Once AVP is open you can't change it, at least not on this one. John

I recently got an Apple TV/FM tuner card with remote, and installed it last evening. While it works fine, I have one unsolved problem-----every time I shut down the computer, it forgets the sound input configuration. When I open Apple Video Player, I have no sound until I close it, and set the proper input source in the sound configuration control panel. Then, it's okay until I shut down. I'm running OS 9.1, I've already changed the PRAM battery, and zapped the PRAM. Any other ideas or suggestions?
